Facebook sets up shop in Singapore

When you have 3 million users in Singapore alone, it”s not surprising that Facebook has decided to set up a sales office here to deal with advertising sales and it’s burgeoning membership.

The office will serve as a regional office for South-east Asia and deal with many of the regional marketing agencies based here.

According to Blake Chandlee, Facebook’s VP & Commercial Director (APAC, LATAM & CEEMA),

“What we do find is that as brands become busy and investments get to more significant levels, often brands want a direct relationship with Facebook. So we had to make decisions where it’s important for us to have Facebook employees versus partners.”

Facebook is slated this year to achieve US$1b in ad revenue.
